Brittney Laleh Banaei is a mover, educator, and bodyworker. She holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies from Missouri State University. Her primary research is on diasporic expressions of Middle Eastern identity and the intersection of dance and the sociopolitical. Brittney is passionate about student advocacy and the support of artists, and is excited to align those interests in the role of graduate program coordiantor for the Department of Theatre and Dance.
Outside of dance, Brittney's hobbies include: weightlifting, her dogs (Mildred and Mortimer), and peanut butter.
