Camp Shakespeare is a 13 year-old education program run by the Colorado Shakespeare Festival (CSF). In this three-week program, campers rehearse and perform an abridged version of one of the CSF season plays. Working in small groups of 16, these students spend a total of 60 hours learning about Shakespeare in performance. The aim of the camp is to imbue students with the depth, breadth and potency of Shakespeare’s language and its power to address the human experience through theatre. Through the study of Shakespeare’s texts, young actors have opportunities to accumulate myriad skills, for use onstage and off.
